About this Tool

Google Jamboard is a collaborative, digital whiteboard. Your students can use Jamboard to engage with peers and faculty. As faculty, you are able to collaborate with your colleagues. Additionally, you can utulize Jamboard as an active learning tool in face-to-face, asynchronous, and synchronous online courses. Three modalities (browser, app, and kiosk) are available for use. The kiosk is currently available only on IU Bloomington, IU Kokomo and IUPUI campuses. However, there are many features of the kiosk that are also available in the browser and on the app.

Note that you should always use your Google at IU account for any IU coursework and/or business related to IU. Please keep in mind that non-IU Google accounts are not approved for IU institutional data. 

Key Features for Teaching and Learning

  • Accessible via Google at IU. Use your Google at IU account to access Google Jamboard.
  • Enjoy real-time collaboration. Jamboard will provide a link that you can share with others, allowing you to collaborate them in real-time.
  • Add and save files from Google Drive. In Jamboard, you can add and edit Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, and they will save automatically as the original file types (Docs, Sheets, or Slides) in Google Drive.
  • Access Jamboards from any device. You can collaborate on Jamboard using an app on your mobile device, the browser on your computer, or a kiosk.
