About this Tool

Announcements are designed to allow instructors to broadcast information to all members of a course or to all members of sections within a course. Announcements allow you to post interesting course-related topics and to communicate with your students about course activities. Students may be able to reply to announcements, but replies are not considered to be a conversation and do not appear in the Conversations Inbox.

Key Features for Teaching and Learning

  • Broadcast information. Announcements allow you to broadcast information to all members of a course or to all members of sections within a course.
  • Alert students to immediate changes. Use Announcements to let students know about time-sensitive events such as school closing due to inclement weather or a reminder to prepare for that big test.
